About Sankaran Writes

The idea of having a blog was to document my Kaadhal and Kumural (Love and Exasperation) towards Cinema. It may be intriguing, stupid, interesting or lame, with not-so-shabby writing, but they are genuine.

From the silence in the frames to the mass commercial masala template, from the works of Hayao Miyazaki to our very own Sundar C, I love the works of many and am an absolute sucker for Sci-Fi films.

I am up for any discussions, recommendations, and constructive arguments irrespective of the region where the film was made, as long as there is something to discuss. However, one bad film will ruin my whole week! Yes, I take recco seriously.

“I don’t think mainstream cinema needs to be stupid. I think it can have the sensibility of the so-called serious cinema and still remain connected to a larger audience. That’s the path I have chosen. I am a product of mainstream cinema.”
