Though the actors in Rajinikanth and Shruthi Haasan were utilized to the brink, Coolie relied more on the earlier works of the actors and their personal relationships than a strong emotional connection (on-screen). Lokesh's screenplay sort of became a generic template where the vintage songs became part of a checklist. Kuberaa (Tamil/Telugu) – an intense socio-political thriller that could have been a game changer
With a strong premise, this directorial from Sekhar Kammula makes us introspect on our understanding of power, wealth, humanity and deed. Despite having flaws, it had a great world building that could have resulted in something extraordinary.
#9 – One Minute Review – Good Bye, Lenin! (German) – a tragicomedy that is funny and moving

The gangster revenge drama had all the things I expect out of a Mani Ratnam's movie - Stellar casting, great performances, impeccable production design, and rich songs. But the story heavily fell short of conveying the emotional dynamics between characters, leaving us with a generic, underwhelming and mundane revenge drama.

Showcasing the plight … Continue reading #7 – One Minute Review – Retro (Tamil) – Suriya shines the brightest in this technically strong yet emotionally feeble attempt
