Love towards Cinema
With absolutely spellbinding performances from the leads, PS2 is more on the emotions of the characters than their lustre and glory. Mani Ratnam and his team, despite commercial temptations, were brave enough to pull off the right thing, which is a befitting finale for this novel adaptation.

Based on the literary work of Kalki Krishnamurthy, Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan has an ensemble cast along with some of the leading technicians from the Indian Film Industry. Though several attempts were made in adapting this literary magnum opus, it was Mani Ratnam who finally managed to bring this historical fiction to life, on the big screens. It is expected to hit the theatres later this month, and amidst a lot of expectations riding on his shoulder, I wish to share few thoughts on the feature that are lingering in my mind for quite a while now.
