Love towards Cinema
With the backdrop of the 2018 Kerala floods, Jude Anthany Joseph directed this survival thriller with a highly moving narrative that encompasses several emotions. The film, backed up by a humongous cast, is engaging and intense, providing a great aftertaste.
Directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam enters a Shakespeare'ic philosophical zone, involving themes of drama, life, duality and organised chaos. Along with well-crafted sound and production design, this grounded narrative was a playground for the casts to unleash their skills in such a technically sound drama.
Having previously directed Neram and Premam, Alphonse Puthren decided to gamble with his editorial techniques in this multi-starrer that focuses on how products are consumed in today's society. Backed up by a splendid score from Rajesh Murugesan, this experimental surprisingly worked for me, despite certain shortcomings. However, it may not be everyone's cup of tea, especially if it's a filled one!
Directed by Martin Prakat and brilliantly written by Shahi Kabir, this socio-political drama explores the volatility of our socio-democratic system amidst the wimpish political environment.
This Madhavan-Shraddha Srinath starrer is more about love than lovers and has no enemies of sorts, apart from time!
