Viduthalai Part 1 (Tamil) – Vetrimaaran’s rage on the flawed (political) system that is intense and hard-hitting
Starring Soori in a leading role for the first time, Viduthalai has an intense narration that is highly political in nature, encompassing several faults underlying (our) system, comprising class, caste and divisions. With a highly skilled cast and crew, the first instalment sets a benchmark in terms of narrative with a strong political commentary, only to be surpassed with the second one (hopefully).

Taanakkaran – an honest, no-nonsense film about power and hierarchy, that lacks the ultimate punch, sort of!
In his debut directorial, Tamizh tried to implore the adverse effects of herd mentality when it is intertwined with power and a reward-based system. Though as earnest as it might sound, the script lacks the engagement that it tries to achieve, in spite of the hard work that went behind it.
